A friend of mine who loves the outdoors asked if I could make an insect repellent, one that was natural and would not interfere with the organic cycle of things [artificial chemically active repellents alert all wildlife of your presence]. His request was based upon the effect other repellents have on wildlife. Citronella is a natural oil that is known to be effective in repelling insects.
In the fall of 1998 we prototyped an all natural insect repellent and I passed out twenty 1 ounce bottles. Our findings indicated that our formula was very effective in combating the biting mosquito. We were delighted with the results, but most important, the deer were not alerted by the smell of the citronella.
Tripple G Insect Repellent: Don't apply like other repellents. It's not necessary to saturate the exposed skin. Apply a drop to the back of each hand, the nape of the neck, the forehead, the chin, the backs of the knees, approximately every other square foot of exposed skin. Does not stain clothing.
